This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. West Fork Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Hinman Campground is a nice local campground, and Encampment River is a magnificent whitewater spot close by. High temperatures at West Fork Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and the overnight is rather chillier of course, generally in the 40's. Through the winter highs are       in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at West Fork Lake. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Park Range. Good hiking is available along the West Fork Trail, and do visit Gem Lake, it's a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. On a lovely day you obtain a view of Black Mountain from West Fork Lake. There's so much to do here at West Fork Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beaver Creek Campground is a good spot for that;                  a tremendous close by hotel is Nordic Lodge of Steamboat. Not much precipitation falls here at West Fork Lake; through May this area sees the most rain while January is commonly the driest month. There's glorious hiking along the Gem Lake Trail, and Lower Big Creek Dam has magnificent water scenery. This lake is one of the great places here in the Park Range. This lake is so wonderful. The Stump Park Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you're here, you could also pop by beautiful Manzanares Lake. Just can't get enough of the Park Range.
