It is very dehydrated here at West Elk Reservoir frequently; the wettest month of the year is frequently October, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at West Elk Reservoir all through the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on White River - South Fork; close by you hit upon the Fayville Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Little Box Canyon Campground is a great local campground, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Last Chance Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
