What a place this is for outdoors people. Camping is available at Tramway Campground, and soar down the rapids of South Platte River - North Fork in a kayak. If you came for an overnight stay Buffalo Creek Campground is a perfect place to camp, and there are great places to look at along the Lake Park Trail. The Front Range scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Going       for a hike on the Pine Ridge Trail is always a fine adventure, and it's a fine idea to pop by Freeman Creek. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Front Range. Near Wellington Lake you stumble on the Rolling Creek Trail which is a good hiking trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit South Platte River. Just can't get enough of the Front Range. A nice close by hotel is Quality Suites Evergreen. If you want to check out some out of the ordinary                  stuff, check out The Castle, and there's always Wellington Dam to stop at in the neighborhood of Wellington Lake. Summertime highs at Wellington Lake regularly tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's.
