If you are in La Plata county it's always a good idea to stop by Webb Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Webb Lake; Highline Trail is a wonderful local trail; Animas River is a fine whitewater spot close by. A tremendous close by hotel is Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel, and the top of Stag Mesa is easily seen from Webb Lake. Webb Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan Mountains.

| | at Webb Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lime Creek Campground is a fine place for that; since you're here at Webb Lake, checking out Overlook Point is a must. It is very arid here at Webb Lake generally; August is the wettest month with most rain, and June is when it's the driest. getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Canyon Creek.
And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do in the vicinity of Webb Lake. Some of the water close by flows, like Needle Creek, and if you came to camp
Bear Creek Campground is a brilliant place to do that. So much fun stuff to do here in the San Juan Mountains, too magnificent to be true. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Silverton; if you need a place to stay Cascade
Village is a good choice. Don't leave Webb Lake without first going for a hike along the Whitehead Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Deer Park Trail, and pleasant skiing awaits you at Kendall
Mountain. All through the warm months at Webb Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Webb Lake plunge into the 0's.
