At Waller Reservoir during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs throughout the winter are regularly in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures       at Waller Reservoir sink into the 0's. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Piney River, and Waller Reservoir is not the only site close by, Wohler Reservoir is a close by lake. It is very dried out here at Waller Reservoir mostly; the month with most of the snow is March while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Leland Creek is a stream that you may run into while you're here, and camping                  at Lynx Pass Campground is always a pleasant experience. Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a great location to get some rest, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Muddy Slide Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The South Derby Trail is a good hiking trail close to Waller Reservoir. Waller Reservoir is good enough to spend more than a day at, Toponas Creek Campground is a good local campground, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Vail Valley. This lake is so wonderful.
