    Go to Wagon Tongue Reservoir if you want to go to a nice lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Front Range. There's glorious hiking along the Phantom Creek Trail; you're in all probability interested in lakes, Wagon Tongue Reservoir is one of those close by. Don't leave Wagon Tongue Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Hankins Trail; Country Lodge is a magnificent place to get some rest. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the  
   Front Range. If you came for an overnight stay Wagon Tongue Campground is a great place to camp. Lakes are great; Lake George Reservoir is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Wagon Tongue Reservoir.
If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Wagon Tongue Reservoir. There are pleasant places to explore along the Longwater Trail, and at Wagon Tongue Dam near Wagon Tongue Reservoir there are some interesting things to see. Not
 
               much rain falls here at Wagon Tongue Reservoir; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. If you haven’t been to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, you ought to schedule some time for it since you're here, and Reservoir Campground is a brilliant local campground.
This lake is located in the wonderful Front Range. High temperatures at Wagon Tongue Reservoir all through the long summer days are in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while Wagon Tongue Reservoir night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the-10's. South Platte River is a good whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Wagon Tongue Reservoir, and Corduroy Gulch is in the neighborhood, and is a delightful place.

I was disappointed when I realized that canoes are not allowed. But it is very beautiful and a nice place for a simple hike....
Bring your fishing net!!!! I caught a two pound smallmouth off powerbait and reeled it in on 6lb test all the way to the bank and the line snapped as I pulled it up and out of the water because I had no net....
went in July 2007, no bites. Beautiful lake though....
