This lake is so wonderful. Sawdust Gulch is near Vurl Reservoir and is a great location, and there's whitewater on San Miguel River for all you adrenaline junkies. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has to offer. You can run the rapids of San Miguel River close to Vurl Reservoir, and don't leave Vurl Reservoir without first going for a hike along the       Paradox Road. There's so much to do here at Vurl Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Iron Spring Campground is a pleasant location for that, and magnificent hiking is available along the Spring Creek Trail. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is so good! Here at Vurl Reservoir you'll in all probability meet some folks from Montrose, and Lost Spring is always fun to check out. The Uncompahgre Plateau                  Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Mountain Lodge At Telluride is a great choice, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Telluride. Not much rain falls here at Vurl Reservoir; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. A delightful lake like Hotchkiss Reservoir near Vurl Reservoir is a perfect site to stop at; a fine close by hotel is Inn at Lost Creek. What a site this is for outdoors folks. If you came to camp Antone Spring Campground is a good place to do that, and there are perfect locations to explore along the Horsefly Trail. At Vurl Reservoir during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.
