most rain around here, and the driest of the months is June. Any time is a fine time at Verde Lake if you go for the outdoors. A wonderful spot to camp here at Verde Lake is Silverton Lakes Campground; Sugarloaf can be seen from Verde
Lake. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at St.Elmo Hotel; what would winter be without some skiing at Silverton. Throughout the warm
months, highs mostly are in the 70's at Verde Lake, and the overnight is slightly chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Verde Lake temperatures
drop to the 0's. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Verde Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Mountaineer Creek from Verde Lake is simple, and you can run the rapids of Animas River. Verde Lake is right
by the Whitehead Trail, and get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Mineral Creek - South. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
