So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too great to be true. A spree to Venable Lakes wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Venable Falls, and on a wonderful day you get a good view of Comanche Peak from Venable Lakes. Summertime at Venable Lakes arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's with       temperatures at Venable Lakes dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. You absolutely must love Venable Lakes. A great spot to pop by in the vicinity of Venable Lakes is Venable Pass; Phantom Terrace is an interesting spot to go to while at Venable Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Venable-Comanche Trail, and North Crestone Campground is a fine campground nearby. This is a perfect vicinity for folks who like lakes. Hermit Lake                  is a lake close by, and going for a hike along the Rito Alto Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Macey Lake; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Loop Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A journey to Great Sand Dunes National Monument is recommended. All year is a nice time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains if you like the outdoors. Stay the night at Grape Creek RV Park and Campground, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Challenger Golf Club is close at hand.
