    Vallecito Reservoir is a lake worth visiting. What a spot this is for outdoors people. Vallecito Reservoir is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Old Timbers Campground is a magnificent local campground, and if you've had enough of Vallecito Reservoir, Wommer Reservoir Number 1 is close by. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is bountiful here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Camping at Wilson Creek Campground is always a good experience, and  
   Vallecito Reservoir is not the only site close by, Lake Simpatico is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. Tamarron Resort is a nice place to get some rest, and after a long day outdoors Lodge at Tamarron is a fine place to spend a night or two.
Vallecito Reservoir gets very little rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is June. During the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Vallecito
 
               Reservoir while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Vallecito Reservoir temperatures descend to the 0's. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. An exciting thing to take a look at close to Vallecito Reservoir is Vallecito Dam, and Dunsworth Park is a delightful place.
You can run the rapids of Vallecito Creek near Vallecito Reservoir; do take a look at Jack Creek while you're here at Vallecito Reservoir. Vallecito Reservoir is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. Since you're here at Vallecito Reservoir why not pop by Browns Canyon, and you're sure to encounter some wonderful people from Durango here. Canyon Creek is a tremendous whitewater spot right next door to Vallecito Reservoir, and the Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway is a nice hiking trail close by.
