Ute Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. This lake is so wonderful. The Whitehead Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Ute Lake, and there are other places here than Ute Lake, for example Flint Lakes. Be careful coming to Ute Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. Ute Lake is a magnificent place to camp, Lost Trail Campground is a magnificent place, and lovely scenery and good skiing is what you acquire at Kendall Mountain. Now,

the Deer Park Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and whitewater paddling is perfect on Rio Grande. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Vallecito Creek, and going for
a hike on the Fern Creek Stock Driveway is always a pleasant adventure.
And if that's not enough there's a lot more cool things to do in the San Juan Mountains. Gotta ski! Silverton is a nice location to do that, and a great nearby
hotel is Cascade Village. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Ute Lake is pretty dry usually; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while June is commonly the driest month.
