Upper Turquoise Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sawatch Range. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Vail if you're here, and Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort And Spa is a brilliant location to get some rest. The nice folks of Edwards like to hang out close by, and a good site for whitewater paddling is Eagle River. Not far from Upper Turquoise

| | Lake, you'll stumble on Lower Turquoise Lake which is a scenic lake. Yep, outdoors cool things truly is bountiful here in the Sawatch Range. Lakes? Sure, Boot Lake is close by. There's so much to do here at Upper Turquoise Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Half Moon Campground is a fine spot for that. Upper Turquoise Lake all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's with temperatures at Upper Turquoise Lake dipping
down into the 0's through winter nights. Going for a hike on the New York Mountain Trail is always a good adventure, and the peak of Grouse Mountain can be observed from Upper Turquoise Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Upper Turquoise
Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Gold Park Campground is a glorious local campground, and nearby you hit upon the Half Moon Trail which is a great hiking trail. The Sawatch Range scenery is always beautiful.
This lake is so wonderful. There are great places to discover along the Fall Creek Trail; a pleasant close by hotel is Hyatt Mountain Lodge. Just can't get enough of Upper Turquoise Lake. What would winter be without some skiing at Beaver Creek; Eagle River is a good whitewater spot nearby.

 | 17 miles away Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir. We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection. After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests. A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir. It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well. We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum.... |

 | 19 miles away We had a great time hiking to Upper Piney Lake over 4th of July weekend, 2006. Although the views are out of this world, the hike will take everything out of you that you've got. I would highly recommend this hike. Make sure you have everything you need for AT LEAST 2 days. The hike to Upper Piney will take 8 hours (all up hill)...But only 4 hours to get back to Piney River Ranch.... |
