You can never get enough of the magnificent skiing at Monarch; dry warm beds await you at Best Western Vista Inn. You can run the rapids of Arkansas River close to Upper Pomeroy Lake, and going for a hike on the Browns Creek Trail is always a good adventure. Upper Pomeroy Lake is pretty dried out ordinarily; the month with most of the rain is August; June is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.       Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is a fine location in close proximity to Upper Pomeroy Lake, and not far from Upper Pomeroy Lake you'll find Billings Lake which is a delightful lake. Upper Pomeroy Lake is located in the Sawatch Range. High temperatures at Upper Pomeroy Lake all through the summer are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the-20's overnight here                  at Upper Pomeroy Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Near Upper Pomeroy Lake you discover the Fooses Creek Trail which is a great hiking trail, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Arkansas River.
