Although the views are out of this world, the hike will take everything out of you that you've got. I would highly recommend this hike. Make sure you have everything you need for AT LEAST 2 days. The hike to Upper Piney will take 8 hours (all up hill)...But only 4 hours to get back to Piney River Ranch. Throughout the days of summer here at Upper Piney Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Upper Piney Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. Upper Piney Lake is a location with many visitors from Silverthorne, and you'll       never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Beaver Creek while you're here. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Park Range, too wonderful to be true. The Slate Creek Trail is a brilliant hiking trail right next door to Upper Piney Lake, and paddling on Gore Creek is so much fun. All year is a magnificent time in the Park Range if you like the outdoors. If you need a location to stay Vail Racquet Club Condominiums is a tremendous choice, and Upper                  Piney Lake is not the only place close by, Pitkin Lake is a close by lake. Learning Camp is a great campground nearby; if you came for an overnight stay Gore Creek Campground is a fine site to camp. Upper Piney Lake is pretty dry regularly; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Manor Vail Resort and Conference Center is a nice site to get some rest; a round of golf at nearby Vail Golf Club is a great way to kill some time. All the outdoors amusing things next to Upper Piney Lake will keep you coming back again and again. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! Upper Piney Lake is unbeatable! The Spider is lovely and can be observed from Upper Piney Lake; a lake nearby is Booth Lake. If the weather is delightful here at Upper Piney Lake, you can go for a hike along the Deluge Lake Trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Vail. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Lost Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; get covered with water paddling on Blue River.
