Why not camp at Middle Quartz Campground if you're here at Upper Hancock Lake, and going for a hike along the Coyote Park Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Upper Hancock Lake with nighttime lows in the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Upper Hancock Lake dipping down into the-20's       all through winter nights. It is very dried up here at Upper Hancock Lake mostly; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is June. Upper Hancock Lake is located in the Sawatch Range. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Arkansas River, and a tour to Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is worthwhile. So many exciting things to do here in the Sawatch Range, too tremendous to be true. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Island Lake, and here at Upper Hancock Lake you can catch a sight of Brittle Silver Mountain. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun things the area near Upper Hancock Lake has to offer. Camping is available at Garfield Campground, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to make out at North Fork Dam in close proximity to Upper Hancock Lake.
