Now, you may believe that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Upper Chinns Reservoir. What would winter be without some skiing at Winter Park, and the vista of Mount Bancroft is pretty. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Upper Chinns Reservoir. Upper Chinns Dam is a site that is near Upper       Chinns Reservoir; there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby called the James Peak Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not explore close by North Empire Creek while you're here at Upper Chinns Reservoir, and Upper Chinns Reservoir is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Spruce Lodge Campground is a nice local campground. Throughout the months of summer highs here at Upper Chinns Reservoir reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the                  40's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 20's; nighttime lows through the winter for Upper Chinns Reservoir tend to be in the 0's. Going for a hike on the South Boulder Creek Trail is always a glorious adventure; there are delightful sites to discover along the Sevenmile Ski Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Iron Horse Resort, obviously you could also take a look at Slater Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. A lake nearby is Sherwin Lake; if you come at the right time of year, Clear Creek - West Fork offers some perfect whitewater. There's so much to do here at Upper Chinns Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Mountain Meadow Camp Grounds is a good spot for that, and after a long day outdoors The Peck House is a great site to spend a night or two.
