At Upper Chinns Reservoir throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Upper
Chinns Reservoir dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights.
Not far from Upper Chinns Reservoir, you'll stumble on Chinns Lake which is a pretty lake, and the skiing at Berthoud Pass is magnificent. This lake is so wonderful.
While you're here at Upper Chinns Reservoir you can take a hike along the South Boulder Creek Trail, and Mount Bancroft is charming and can be made out from here. If you come at the right time of year, Clear Creek - West Fork offers
some good whitewater, and after a long day outdoors Iron Horse Resort is a good spot to spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is fine here at Upper Chinns Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Sevenmile
Ski Trail, and there are other places here than Upper Chinns Reservoir, for example Fall River Reservoir. But wait, there's more to do close to Upper Chinns Reservoir.
