Sure, Flint Lakes is in the neighborhood of Twin Lakes, and you can hit the slopes at Silverton close at hand. Twin Lakes is located in the San Juan Mountains. Yeah, come up here to the San Juan Mountains for a pleasant time. There's whitewater on Animas River for all you adrenaline junkies, and wonderful hiking is available along the Deer Park Trail. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Twin       Lakes reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for Twin Lakes tend to be in the 0's. A delightful location to camp here at Twin Lakes is Vallecito Campground, and Kendall Mountain is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. And that's not all you can do here at Twin Lakes. There's magnificent hiking along the Fern Creek Stock Driveway;                  there are some perfect whitewater spots on Vallecito Creek. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Cascade Village is a good place to spend a night or two, and don't leave Twin Lakes without first going for a hike along the Whitehead Trail. Around Twin Lakes you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is June. Be careful coming to the San Juan Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again.
