So much cool stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, not enough time. Camping is available at Lost Trail Campground, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Kendall Mountain is pretty near. All the outdoors fun stuff near Twin Lakes will keep you coming back persistently. While you're here at Twin Lakes you can take a hike along the Whitehead Trail, and a day on the slopes of Silverton       is just what you need. Paddling on Animas River is so much fun, and a beautiful lake like Middle Ute Lake is a wonderful spot to stop at. If the weather is brilliant here at Twin Lakes, you can go for a hike along the Deer Park Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Vallecito Campground is a perfect location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Vallecito Creek, and if you need a place to stay Purgatory Village Condominium                  Hotel is a great choice. This spot, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. On a good day at Twin Lakes you can take a hike along the Fern Creek Stock Driveway, and lakes are such serene places, why not have a look at Flint Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Not much rainfall falls here at Twin Lakes; most of the rain falls during August while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. For the period of the summer at Twin Lakes highs are mostly in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's.
