All our national parks are glorious sites to take a look at, and Great Sand Dunes National Monument is no exception, and the Music Pass Trail offers hiking at its best. Twin Lakes is not the only site nearby, Cotton Lake is a nearby lake. Through the warm months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Twin Lakes. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. The       winter brings highs down to the 30's while Twin Lakes overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the-10's. Stay the night at Great Sand Dunes Oasis, and hey, Big Spring Creek is a glorious local stream. This site is excellent, just check out all the fun things to do next to Twin Lakes. If you need a spot to stay Days Inn Alamosa is a delightful choice, and there's delightful hiking along the Ute Trail. Twin Lakes is usually a reasonably waterless                  spot; July is the month that gets the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.
