Hiking is a popular thing to do around Turner Reservoir; Sheeley Trail is a fine local trail; you can stay the night at Maverick Trailer Park. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a nice national park. Turner Reservoir in fact is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Turner Reservoir has to offer,                  you can camp at Rv Station Campground, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Shadow Hills Golf Club is in close proximity. There's some flowing water nearby, Wilson Creek is a stream you can go to during your stay, and the fine folks of Canon City like to hang out close by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Front Range. For the duration of the days of summer at Turner Reservoir highs are generally in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Turner Reservoir tend to be in the-10's. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place!
