You could also stop by Maid Lake if you're here at Tunnel Lake; it's nearby, and the peak of Mount Helmers can be seen from Tunnel Lake. So many cool things near Tunnel Lake, just fantastic. There is a great hiking trail close to Tunnel Lake called the Pitkin Stock Driveway; Fitzpatrick Gulch is also a delightful spot to explore. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Graphite Lake, and       close by you hit upon the Coyote Park Trail which is a great hiking trail. Mirror Lake Campground is a good campground nearby, and if you have the time, Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is a national park worth going to. Tunnel Lake is a location that is pretty dehydrated mostly; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and June is when it's the driest. So many entertaining things to do here in the                  Sawatch Range, too delightful to be true. A cool spot to explore in close proximity to Tunnel Lake is The Palisades, and Monarch is a very popular ski area around here. For the period of the summer at Tunnel Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's, and the overnight is rather chillier of course, usually in the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the-20's for Tunnel Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Tunnel Lake is Clear Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Middle Quartz Campground is a great place to camp. Tunnel Lake is located in the Sawatch Range. Man, is there a load of exciting stuff to do in the Sawatch Range.
