The beauty of Tunnel Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is located in the wonderful Sawatch Range. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! Tunnel Lake rocks! There's great hiking along the Pitkin Stock Driveway, and if you need a spot to stay Pitkin Hotel is a fine choice. Throughout the summertime at Tunnel Lake temperatures are typically in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. During the winter the highs are

| | mostly in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Tunnel Lake temperatures drop to the-20's.
Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Sawatch Range rules! If you came for an overnight stay Middle Quartz Campground is a nice site to camp, and a delightful close by hotel is Monarch Mountain Lodge. This lake is so wonderful. is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Tunnel Lake; Coyote Park Trail is a wonderful local trail, and don't miss out on a visit to Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park since you're here.
You just can't picture
the amount of outdoors cool things the Sawatch Range has to offer. What would a place like Tunnel Lake be without out of the ordinary close by features like The Palisades, and the Gold Creek Union Park Trail offers hiking at its best.
Tunnel Lake gets very little precipitation; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Mount Helmers is clearly visible from Tunnel Lake, and if
you're here why not stop at Fitzpatrick Gulch.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clear Creek, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Monarch is rather near.
