At Trappers Lake you don’t see much precipitation; March is the month that gets the most snow; the driest month of the year is June. Amphitheatre is a lovely place any time of year, and dry warm beds await you at Oak Tree Inn Yampa. Good hiking is available along the South Derby Trail; in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sweetwater Creek. Whohoo,       so many entertaining things in one place! Trappers Lake is so good! Bucks Campground is a wonderful local campground, and Trappers Lake is not the only place close by, Coffin Lake is a close by lake. Don't forget to take a perfect little visit to Fraser Creek, and there are good sites to discover along the Ute Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Trappers Lake generally tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. All through                  the winter the highs are usually in the 20's with temperatures at Trappers Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. A lake close by is Scotts Lake, and Trappers Lake is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Trapline Campground is a magnificent spot to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
