So many entertaining things right next door to Trail Lake, truly extraordinary. Near Trail Lake you discover the South Fork Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Green Lake, and a good place to camp here at Trail Lake is El Vado Lake Camping Resort. All the water falling down from the sky makes Trail Lake a wet place; the wettest month of the year is commonly       March, that's the one that snows the most; June meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Rio Chama; camping is available at Conejos Campground. Dry warm beds await you at Best Value High Country Lodge, and you can go for a hike on the Ruybalid Trail. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Throughout the summer highs here at Trail Lake get into the 60's; during summer nights temperatures                  are in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are usually in the 30's while Trail Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the San Juan Mountains.
