Conejos Campground is a good campground nearby, and there are brilliant locations to explore along the Ruybalid Trail. If you need a location to stay Branding Iron Motel is a magnificent choice; get your heart pumping on the glorious whitewater of Conejos River. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Trail Lake       is a wet spot that gets lots of rainfall; March is when you get the most snow here, and June is the month with the least moisture. All year is a brilliant time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you like the outdoors. Allington Inn and Suites is a splendid place to get some rest. If you came for an overnight stay El Vado Lake Camping Resort is a great spot to camp, and there are other sites here than Trail Lake, for example Chama Lake. This lake is so                  wonderful. Going for a hike on the Elk Creek Trail is always a wonderful adventure; a fine place for whitewater paddling is Rio Chama. So many fun things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too glorious to be true. Near Trail Lake you come across the South Fork Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. Lakes? Sure, Green Lake is close at hand. At Trail Lake throughout the summertime months highs are in the 60's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's.
