Town Reservoir is frequently a pretty dry spot; the month with most of the rain is October, and June is the month with the least moisture. San Miguel River is a great whitewater spot right next door to Town Reservoir, also Nucla Domestic Dam is worth checking out if you're here. If you came for an overnight stay Smokehouse Campground is a glorious place to camp, and Town Reservoir is not       far at all from Montrose. The Indian Trail is a glorious hiking trail near Town Reservoir, and if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Miguel River. Best Western Sundance is a nice place to get some rest. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area near Town Reservoir has to offer. A delightful place to visit in the neighborhood of Town Reservoir is Maverick Draw, and going for a hike on the                  Fortyseven and Meadow Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at High Country Recreational Vehicle Park while you're here at Town Reservoir, and there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the The Meadows Trail. For the duration of the long summer days here at Town Reservoir, high temperatures frequently get into the 90's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's.
