     Totten Lake is a nice lake to visit. Why not stop by Totten Dam since you're here; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Cortez, Co is a splendid choice. High temperatures at Totten Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Totten Lake. There is a nice hiking trail in the neighborhood of Totten Lake called the Upper  
   Navajo Canyon Trail, and camping at Cortez Mesa Verde KOA is always a fine experience.
This lake is so wonderful. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Totten Lake. On a tremendous day at Totten Lake you can take a hike along the Frink Trail; do take a look at Robert Leighton Reservoir, it's a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Ute Trail is always a splendid adventure, and if you're looking for a delightful visit,
 
               Mesa Verde National Park is relatively near.
You'll stumble on a beautiful lake called Denny Lake near Totten Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Cortez-Days Inn. Around Totten Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; October is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is June. A great spot to camp here at Totten Lake is K O A Kampgrounds; why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Cortez City Government Conquistador Golf Course.

La Mesa RV Park
We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again....

Puett Reservoir
A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line....

Summit Reservoir

Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed....
