Why not stop by Totten Dam since you're here; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Cortez, Co is a splendid choice. High temperatures at Totten Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Totten Lake. There is a nice hiking trail in the neighborhood of Totten Lake called the Upper       Navajo Canyon Trail, and camping at Cortez Mesa Verde KOA is always a fine experience. This lake is so wonderful. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Totten Lake. On a tremendous day at Totten Lake you can take a hike along the Frink Trail; do take a look at Robert Leighton Reservoir, it's a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Ute Trail is always a splendid adventure, and if you're looking for a delightful visit,                  Mesa Verde National Park is relatively near. You'll stumble on a beautiful lake called Denny Lake near Totten Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Cortez-Days Inn. Around Totten Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; October is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is June.
