This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Liberty Cap Trail is always a nice adventure. A good spot to camp here at Thompson Reservoir Number 1 is Fruita Junction RV Park, and you'll stumble on a pretty lake called Thompson Reservoir Number 2. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is great! Near Thompson Reservoir Number 1 you       stumble on the Ute Canal Trail which is a perfect hiking trail; there's whitewater on Colorado River for all you adrenaline people. Thompson Reservoir Number 1 gets very little rainfall; the month with most of the rain is October, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Thompson Reservoir Number 1 is one of the lakes here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. High temperatures at Thompson Reservoir Number 1 through the warm months are in the 90's while                  night lows are regularly in the 50's. During the winter the highs are regularly in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Thompson Reservoir Number 1 temperatures sink to the 0's. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll like Thompson Reservoir Number 1. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Colorado River, and camping is available at The Falls Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Super 8 Motel is a wonderful choice, and an afternoon playing golf at Tiara RADO Golf Course is always a diversion. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Fruita is a glorious place to spend a night or two; the Black Ridge Trail is a glorious hiking trail close by. Now, you may believe that's loads but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains.
