Beautiful Thompson Lake has much to offer visitors. High temperatures at Thompson Lake throughout the long summer days are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Thompson Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Ouray is a great choice, and Thompson Lake is a great

| | place to visit for more than one day, Lake City Campground is a great place to camp nearby. Be careful coming to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Going for a hike along the Big Blue Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and Sugarloaf Rock is an interesting thing to spot since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. rate up on the brilliant whitewater of Henson Creek. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Around Thompson Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the
driest of the months is June. That right there is a heap of fun stuff already but it goes on, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has it all. Lakes are such serene sites, why not stop by Lake San Cristobal in close proximity to Thompson
Lake; obviously Henson Creek is a lovely stream that is worth going to. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Lake Fork Gunnison River. Slaughterhouse Gulch is a
delightful place to explore; a perfect view of pretty Neoga Mountain is available. While you're here at Thompson Lake you can take a hike along the Fall Creek Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Thompson Lake has to offer, you can camp at Slumgullion Pass Campground.
