Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Terrace Reservoir temperatures sink to the 0's. Not much rain falls here at Terrace Reservoir; most of the rain falls through August, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Terrace Reservoir is a beautiful lake       in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant close by hotel is Budget Host Monte Villa Inn Monte Vista, and an attention-grabbing thing to stop by near Terrace Reservoir is Terrace Dam. You absolutely must love the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Get dripping wet paddling on Conejos River, and Terrace Reservoir is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Alamosa Campground is a perfect local campground. So many cool things to                  do at Terrace Reservoir, so little time. Good hiking is available along the Hot Creek Stock Driveway, and a short tour to Shillings Spring is always worthwhile. These mountains rock, just explore all the fun things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Going for a hike on the Alamosa River Trail is always a glorious adventure, and a nice spot to camp here at Terrace Reservoir is Rock Creek Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Pine Squirrel Reservoir is close by. The view of charming Jacobs Hill near Terrace Reservoir is fine, and not far from Terrace Reservoir you'll find Little Brown Lake which is a scenic lake.
