Man, is there plenty of cool things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. If the weather is great here at T J Lake, you can go for a hike along the Fish Creek Trail, and not far from T J Lake you'll discover Native Lake which is a charming lake. That right there is a lot already, but it keeps on going; T J Lake has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Branding Iron Motel,       and going for a hike along the Leche Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. El Vado Lake Camping Resort is a perfect campground nearby; you can run the rapids of Rio Chama. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Rio Chama RV Campground; if you need a place to stay Best Western Jicarilla Inn & Casino is a good choice. Hiking along the Elk Creek Trail is great fun; Rio de los Brazos is a pleasant whitewater spot nearby. T J                  Lake is a quite wet place generally with a large amount of precipitation; most of the snow falls all through March, and the driest month of the year is June. So much fun stuff to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too great to be true. There are other sites here than T J Lake, for example Brushfence Lake, and the top of Chama Peak is easily observed from T J Lake. During the summertime months at T J Lake temperatures are commonly in the 60's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's.
