This lake is so wonderful. The Point Camp Trail offers hiking at its best, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Kannah Creek. Summertime highs at Sweitzer Lake usually tend to be in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Sweitzer Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Garnet Mesa Reservoir is in the neighborhood of Sweitzer       Lake; you can stay the night at Amphitheater - Gunnison National Forest. If you need a site to stay Best Western Sundance is a brilliant choice, and brilliant hiking is available along the Winter Mesa Trail. At Sweitzer Lake you don’t see much precipitation; October is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February. Powderhorn is a great local ski area; a golf course close by is Devil's Thumb Golf Club. You clearly ought to                  love Sweitzer Lake.
