You can run the rapids of Vallecito Creek next to Sunlight Lake, and a fine site to camp here at Sunlight Lake is Vallecito Campground. Summer at Sunlight Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are regularly in the 30's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Sunlight       Lake tend to be in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Animas River is a glorious whitewater spot next to Sunlight Lake, and the top of Gray Needle is easily seen from Sunlight Lake. Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel is a tremendous location to get some rest, and going for a hike on the Deer Park Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. There are great places to explore along the Brooklyn Trail, and skiing at Kendall Mountain is one of                  those things you just ought to do. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Hazel Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Purgatory Lodge by Durango Mountain Resorts.
