This lake is so wonderful. A fine nearby hotel is Allington Inn and Suites, and do take a hike on the San Juan Stock Driveway. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the San Juan Mountains. Hiking along the Dry Creek Stock Driveway is splendid fun, and the peak of Cropsy Mountain can be seen from Summitville Tailings Pond. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan Mountains.

During the days of summer highs here at Summitville Tailings Pond reach the 60's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 30's, and through the dark hours in
the winter at Summitville Tailings Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. So much enjoyable stuff in the San Juan Mountains, just remarkable. Mix Lake Campground is a nice campground here; a great place for whitewater paddling is Rio
Grande. If you came for an overnight stay Stunner Campground is a perfect site to camp; if you need a spot to stay Americas Best Value Inn is a nice choice.
Going for a hike along the Lake Fork Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; some of the water close by flows, like Cropsy Creek.
