Throughout the summertime months here at Sullivan Reservoir, high temperatures usually reach the 80's with night lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Sullivan Reservoir tend to be in the 0's. Durango/Purgatory Super 8 Motel is a delightful location to get some rest, and don't leave Sullivan Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Goodhope Stock       Driveway. This lake is so wonderful. At Sullivan Reservoir you always meet someone from Durango, and paddling on Animas River is so much fun. Not much precipitation falls here at Sullivan Reservoir; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while June is typically the driest month. Black Water Canyon is right next door to Sullivan Reservoir and is a fine place, and the snow is good at Durango. This lake is so wonderful. Cotton                  wood RV Park is a great local campground, and a short spree to McCullogh Spring is always worthwhile. Going for a hike on the Highline Trail is always a glorious adventure, and you'll hit upon a lovely lake called Herrera Reservoir. There are good sites to discover along the Highline Loop Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites. And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do next to Sullivan Reservoir.
