Sullivan Reservoir is pretty dehydrated ordinarily; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most; June is when it's the driest. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Sullivan Reservoir. The Highline Loop Trail is a nice hiking trail near Sullivan Reservoir, and the snow is tremendous at Hesperus Ski Center. If you came for an overnight stay Alpen Rose       RV Park is a great spot to camp, and a lake close by is Goat Canyon Reservoir. Paddling on Animas River is so much fun; McCullogh Spring is always fun to check out. Through the days of summer at Sullivan Reservoir temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Sullivan Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available                  at Cotton wood RV Park, and a good close by hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites. Near Sullivan Reservoir you stumble on the Goodhope Stock Driveway which is a good hiking trail, and you might also want to pay a visit to Black Water Canyon if you're here at Sullivan Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Sullivan Reservoir is a site with many visitors from Durango; why not head up to Durango and strap some skis to your feet.
