Beautiful Stump Lake has much to offer visitors. There's some exciting stuff to spot at Gregor Dam in the neighborhood of Stump Lake; Hill Creek Campground and Trailhead is a great local campground. If you came for an overnight stay Clark Cabin Campground is a pleasant site to camp; dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn New Castle. At Stump Lake you don’t see much rain; most of the rain falls throughout October, and the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful. night or two; the Last Chance Trail is a great hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Stump Lake you can take a hike along the Fayville Trail. This place, Stump Lake, it just has so much outdoors exciting
stuff. Paddling on White River - North Fork is so much fun; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Gilley Lake. While you're here at Stump Lake you can take a hike along the Bailey Lake Trail, and naturally, this is a perfect region for people who like lakes, Gregor Reservoir is a lake in the vicinity.

 | 16 miles away 3 PHOTOS Jet lake is also located in the Flat Tops wilderness area so no vehicles allowed but is only about a 15 to 20 minute hike to the lake (an easy pretty flat hike) then about another 15 minute hike into shadow lake , about 15 mor into blair lake and about 15 more into crater lake. Elk lakes are located about 5 minutes from the wilderness area only 1/2 mile to the parking for jet lakes.... some colorado wild flowers... |

Definatly a 4 wheel drive Jeep Trail but only a few miles from Elk lakes, Jet lake, Shadow Lake, Blair lakes , Crater Lake, Deep lake and bison lake. Lots of Cut throat trout, rainbows and browns. Most deffinatly more than a one day trip. Always plan for all kinds of weather, and definitely tent camping only.... |
