When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Strawberry Lakes temperatures fall to the 0's. Whitewater paddling is great on Eagle River, and if you've had enough of Strawberry Lakes, Fairview Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Fryingpan River has a tremendous whitewater paddling       spot nearby. There's so much to do here at Strawberry Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Elk Wallow Campground is a wonderful place for that. So many cool things to do here in the Sawatch Range, too delightful to be true. A wonderful close by hotel is The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, and going for a hike on the Half Moon Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Strawberry Lakes truly is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. The friendly                  folks of Edwards like to hang out close by, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Last Chance Trail. Not much rainfall falls here at Strawberry Lakes; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month is February. Man, is there a lot of entertaining things to do in the Sawatch Range. Near Strawberry Lakes you locate the Lake Charles Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and Strawberry Lakes is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Gold Park Campground is a pleasant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Strawberry Lakes is not the only spot close by, Blodgett Lake is a close by lake, and after a long day outdoors Hyatt Mountain Lodge is a great spot to spend a night or two. The skiing at Vail is good. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawatch Range.
