     This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Haviland Lake Campground is always a great experience; going for a hike on the Highline Trail is always a great adventure. Go for a hike on the Circle Trail, and a glorious spot for whitewater paddling is Canyon Creek. You can run the rapids of Animas River in the neighborhood of Stratton Lake, and Bell Canyon is a good place to spend some time.
Stratton Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
 
   The amount of rain that falls at Stratton Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during August, and June is the month with the least moisture. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Stratton Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Durango Koa Kampground is a great local campground, and close by you find the Goodhope Stock Driveway which is a good hiking trail.
Playing golf is lots
 
               of fun at Dalton Ranch Golf Club, and skiing at Durango is one of those things you just should do. For the duration of the summertime months at Stratton Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while Stratton Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Lodge at Tamarron is a nice site to spend a night or two, and you'll meet a lot of people from Durango here.
So many exciting things near Stratton Lake, definitely striking. A quick trip to Bear Creek close to Stratton Lake is a pleasant idea, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not go to Warner Reservoir Number 5. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Purgatory Lodge by Durango Mountain Resorts, and why not visit Keeler Dam since you're here. Yep, outdoors cool stuff to do are beyond doubt plentiful here at Stratton Lake. There are other places here than Stratton Lake, for example Shalona Lake.
