This lake is located in the wonderful Park Range. At Steamboat Lake you don’t see much rain; December is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest month of the year is February. Yeah, come up here to the Park Range for a great time. Elk River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by; the Nipple Peak Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is       available along the Coulton Creek Trail. There's so much to do here at Steamboat Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Dutch Hill Campground is a pleasant location for that. A tremendous site to take a look at near Steamboat Lake is Ways Gulch; there's great hiking along the Big Creek Bridge Trail. High temperatures at Steamboat Lake during the warm months are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures through                  the winter are normally in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Steamboat Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's. Be careful coming to the Park Range, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Stay the night at Sunrise Vista Campground, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Howelsen Hill if you're here. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Steamboat Lake. Willow Creek Dam is stunning and it's near Steamboat Lake, and after a long day outdoors Nordic Lodge of Steamboat is a good site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant close by hotel is CrossTimbers at Steamboat, and a delightful lake like Steamboat Lake is a great site to pop by. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Elk River; you'll discover a scenic lake called Hahns Peak Lake.
