The view of charming W Mountain near Star Lake is delightful, and going for a hike on the High Trail is always a delightful adventure. You're probably into lakes, Buck Lake is one of those close by. Just can't get enough of Star Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Sweetwater Creek, and probably you're looking for nearby       lakes? Sure, Crater Lake is just a very short distance away. Star Lake gets very little precipitation; March is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest month is June. Anderson Camps LTD is a great campground nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Grizzly Creek offers some fine whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a perfect choice; close by you hit upon the South Derby Trail which is                  a good hiking trail. Summertime highs at Star Lake typically tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's.
