Rio Grande is a nice whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Spring Creek Reservoir;       close by you stumble on Box Canyon which is a glorious place to visit. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant journey to Ptarmigan Meadows is a great way to spend an afternoon, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Lake Fork Gunnison River. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay South Clear Creek Falls Campground is a fine location to camp, and there are nice places to discover along                  the McKenzie Stock Driveway. And that's not all you can do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Going for a hike on the Fern Creek Stock Driveway is always a tremendous adventure, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Lakeman Lakes. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful. At Spring Creek Reservoir you don’t see much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. A delightful nearby hotel is Fairfield Pagosa Resort, and close by you discover the Long Ridge Stock Driveway which is a pleasant hiking trail. Bennett Creek flows through this area, and North Clear Creek Campground is a great local campground. So many cool things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, just inspiring. This is a brilliant vicinity for people who like lakes.
