It is very dry here at Spinney Mountain Reservoir generally; August is the month that gets the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. So much amusing stuff to do at Spinney Mountain Reservoir, so little time. There is a glorious hiking trail in close proximity to Spinney Mountain Reservoir called the Lake Park Trail, and whitewater paddling is fine on South Platte River. This lake is so wonderful. South       Platte River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby; if you came for an overnight stay Pipe Springs Campground is a wonderful place to camp. Some close by water includes Threemile Creek, and if you need a place to stay Greenview South Beach is a splendid choice. Summertime highs at Spinney Mountain Reservoir ordinarily tend to be in the 70's, and the overnight is rather colder of course, regularly in the 30's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the                  30's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Spinney Mountain Reservoir temperatures plunge to the-10's. On a great day at Spinney Mountain Reservoir you can take a hike along the Nate Stult Trail, and Reservoir Campground is a good campground here.
