Through the summer at Spike Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Spike Lake. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff       to do here in the Park Range. Going for a hike on the Wyoming Trail is always a pleasant adventure; most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Upper Slide Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Spike Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Summit Lake Campground is a great place to camp nearby; a day on the slopes of Howelsen Hill is just what you need. There are great spots to discover along the Rainbow Lake                  Trail; the Park Range is one of the things that make Spike Lake so tremendous. Lost Ranger Peak is charming and can be seen from Spike Lake, and if you've had enough of Spike Lake, Roxy Ann Lake is close by. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! The Park Range rocks! Head up to Steamboat and strap some skis to your feet; dry warm beds await you at Scandinavian Lodge and Condominiums. Spike Lake is one of the lakes here in the Park Range. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is delightful on Elk River; you can go for a hike on the Lost Ranger Trail. So many cool things in close proximity to Spike Lake, just extraordinary.
