On a fine day at Spencer Lake you can take a hike along the Stoner Stock Trail, and Emerson Campground is a tremendous campground nearby. All through the summer months at Spencer Lake highs are regularly in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; night lows during the       winter for Spencer Lake tend to be in the 10's. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Miguel River; nearby you hit upon the Fish Creek Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Jensen Lake, and the Stoner Mesa Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. Having a glorious time at Spencer Lake is painless. You could also take a look at Bull Lake since you're here at Spencer                  Lake; it's close by; Miramonte Reservoir Campground is a great local campground.
