A quick visit to North Fork Rough Creek right next door to Spectacle Lake is a great idea. Spectacle Lake is a wonderful location to visit for more than one day, Spectacle Lake Campground is a wonderful location to camp nearby, and at Spectacle Lake you can distinguish Black Mountain. All year is a good time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you love the outdoors. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Spectacle Lake       has to offer, you can camp at Conejos Campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Conejos River. Spectacle Lake is a wet place that gets a lot of rain; the month with most of the snow is March; the driest of the months is June. If only every spot had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a great planet it would be. If you need a place to stay Branding Iron Motel is a magnificent choice, and going for a hike on the Ruybalid Trail is always a perfect                  adventure. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Los Flores Lake, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Notch Trail. Best Western Movie Manor is a good spot to get some rest, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the Conejos Stock Driveway. At Spectacle Lake during the summer months highs are in the 60's with night lows in the 40's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Spectacle Lake are in the 0's. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.
