This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is nice on Piney River, and Spalding Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Fulford Cave Campground is a great local campground. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading. There's good hiking along the Cache Creek Access Trail, and there are other locations here than Spalding Reservoir,       for example Alex Spring Reservoir. Park Plaza Avon is a glorious site to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Spalding Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Yeoman Park Campground is a good place for that. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawatch Range. Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Sawatch Range. Eagle River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby It's                  always pleasant to take a look at Fez Spring. There's some flowing water nearby, East Fork Red Canyon Creek is a stream you can stop at during your stay; since you're here, you might as well pop by Denison Draw. Spalding Reservoir is pretty arid generally; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do close to Spalding Reservoir. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Rock Creek Trail, and a round of golf at nearby Red Sky Golf Club is a tremendous way to kill some time. And if that's not enough there's plenty more exciting things to do in the Sawatch Range. Ute Spring Reservoir Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here; the slopes of Beaver Creek are so inviting nobody can resist. This lake is so wonderful. During your trip to Spalding Reservoir you'll meet some people from Edwards for sure, and what would winter be without some skiing at Vail. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Sawatch Range is great!. Summertime highs at Spalding Reservoir ordinarily tend to be in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Spalding Reservoir dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights.
