A visit to South Lake is always a good idea. You'll need more than a day to explore everything South Lake has to offer, you can camp at Golden Eagle Ranch Campground, and lots of people from Colorado Springs come here. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a splendid national park, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Indian Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at South Lake. Nearby lakes? Reservoir since you're here at South Lake; it's nearby; hiking is a popular thing to do around South Lake; Penrose Trail is a great local trail.
Summertime highs at South Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is
down it descends down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at South Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. South Lake is pretty dry usually; the month
with most of the rain is July, and January is when it's the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. South Lake is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Foot of the Rockies RV Resort and Storage is a tremendous place to camp nearby, and if you need a place to stay Doubletree Hotel Colorado Springs-World Arena is a nice choice.
