There's just no way anybody can get bored here at South Crestone Lake. Take a little trip to Lake Fork North Crestone Creek since you're here at South Crestone Lake, and the sight of Mount Adams is delightful. These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. A charming lake like Macey Lake close to South Crestone Lake is a magnificent place       to take a look at; camping at Grape Creek RV Park and Campground is always a delightful experience. This lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Challenger Golf Club; there are pleasant sites to explore along the Rito Alto Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. South Crestone Lake gets very little precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the                  year is January. You truly have to fancy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Near South Crestone Lake you hit upon the Loop Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail; the summits of the Sangre De Cristo Range add much beauty to the region. Summertime at South Crestone Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter the highs are usually in the 30's while the cold winter nights at South Crestone Lake are in the 0's. A journey to Great Sand Dunes National Monument is worthwhile, and South Crestone Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, North Crestone Campground is a glorious local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
