There's so much to do here at South Branch Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bighorn Rv Park is a pleasant site for that. Lakes? Sure, Banjo Lake is in close proximity. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to South Branch Lake. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. Going for a hike on the Rainbow Trail is always a great adventure; at South Branch Lake you can see Eagle Peak. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. You'll need more than a day to explore everything South Branch Lake
has to offer, you can camp at Lake Creek Campground, and not far from South Branch Lake you'll come across Brush Creek Lakes which is a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful.

 | 11 miles away Trail is awful, disappearing and reappearing every now and again. Thorn bushes and trash cover what little trail is easy to navigate. Trail disappears completely before you actually reach the lake. Also it appears that an axe murderer has taken up residence in the upperwoods. Be careful and travel in large groups if you plan to try and make it to the lake. It is easy to get lost so mark your trail well.... |
