Why not take a refreshing hike along the Cotton Trail, and camping at Bighorn Rv Park is always a tremendous experience. Just can't get enough of South Branch Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Arkansas River; the summit of Eagle Peak can be observed from South Branch Lake. It is very dehydrated here at South Branch Lake regularly; August is the month that       gets the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you get bored of South Branch Lake, you could also stop by nearby Banjo Lake, and places like Big Branch are pleasant to check out. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to South Branch Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and                  overnight lows through the winter for South Branch Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. South Branch Lake is not the only place close by, Balman Reservoir is a close by lake; South Branch Lake is right by the Rainbow Trail. There's some flowing water close by, Smith Creek is a stream you can visit while here; hiking is a popular thing to do around South Branch Lake; Crossover Trail is a perfect local trail. This lake is so wonderful. This place, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, has so much outdoors fun things.
