If you are in Custer county it's always a good idea to stop by South Branch Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. South Branch Lake is a location that is pretty dry commonly; all through August this area sees the most rain; January is when it's the driest. South Crestone Lake
 | 11 miles away Trail is awful, disappearing and reappearing every now and again. Thorn bushes and trash cover what little trail is easy to navigate. Trail disappears completely before you actually reach the lake. Also it appears that an axe murderer has taken up residence in the upperwoods. Be careful and travel in large groups if you plan to try and make it to the lake. It is easy to get lost so mark your trail well.... |
