This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cache La Poudre River, and Snake Lake Dam is a scenic place, without doubt worth taking a look at. So much amusing stuff next to Snake Lake, just inspiring. You'll need more than a day to discover       everything Snake Lake has to offer, you can camp at Dowdy Lake - Arapaho National Forest; don't leave Snake Lake without first going for a hike along the North Lone Pine Trail. Snake Lake gets very little rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is January. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing things to do in the Medicine Bow Mountains. If you get bored of Snake Lake, you could also go to nearby West                  Lake, and nice hiking is available along the Killpecker Trail. The Medicine Bow Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Throughout the months of summer at Snake Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Snake Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. There's so much to do here at Snake Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bellaire Lake Campground is a good spot for that, and a wonderful spot to stop by nearby is Columbine Canyon. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Fawn Valley Inn is a good spot to spend a night or two. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Medicine Bow Mountains. Snake Lake is not the only location close by, Dowdy Lake is a close by lake; if you're looking for some flowing water?
