There's whitewater on San Miguel River for all you adrenaline people; you can go for a hike on the Horsefly Trail. You can run the rapids of San Miguel River in the vicinity of Smith Reservoir, and a tour to Clay Creek Spring will fill your spirit with great feelings. This lake is so wonderful.

some folks from Montrose for sure. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Placerville Hotel is a good place to spend a night or two, and don't leave Smith Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Dry Creek
Trail.
Just can't get enough of the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. A gorgeous lake like Barnes Mill Reservoir near Smith Reservoir is a pleasant site to explore, and great hiking is available along the Paradox Road. It is very
dry here at Smith Reservoir generally; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest. Camping is available at Iron Spring Campground, and if you need a location to stay Blue Jay Lodge & Cafe is a fine choice.
This lake is located in the wonderful Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains.
