This lake is located in the wonderful Sawatch Range. For the duration of the days of summer at Smith Reservoir temperatures are regularly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Smith Reservoir drop into the 0's. If only every location had this much outdoors fun things, what       a great earth it would be. After a long day outdoors Snowmass Lodging Company is a great location to spend a night or two; let's not forget Iola Creek which is a stream that you may come across while here. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! The Sawatch Range is unbeatable! Really glorious skiing awaits you at Aspen Highlands, and there are other spots here than Smith Reservoir, for example Toner Reservoir. Not much rain falls here at Smith Reservoir;                  throughout April this area sees the most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A great location to camp here at Smith Reservoir is Gypsum Creek Campground, and get covered with water paddling on Roaring Fork. Lakes are such peaceful sites, why not check out Cherry Lake near Smith Reservoir; why not camp at Aspen- Basalt Campground if you're here at Smith Reservoir. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Sawatch Range. Aspen Mountain has good slopes and a friendly staff; not far from Smith Reservoir you obtain some magnificent water scenery at Smith Dam. Go for a hike on the Blue Creek Trail, and if you're interested in cool geologic traits try Seven Castles. Man, is there lots of fun stuff to do near Smith Reservoir. A delightful place to explore in the vicinity of Smith Reservoir is Taylor Creek Pass, and don't leave Smith Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Antone Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
