Many people like to go to Smith Lake. Throughout the warm months highs here at Smith Lake get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 30's. All through the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's while Smith Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's. Hot Springs is a beautiful place to stop by while you're at Smith Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Do stop by Shalona Lake next to Smith Lake, it's a delightful lake, and Tamarron Resort is a good location to get some rest. Just can't
get enough of the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. At Smith Lake you can make out Spud Hill; going for a hike along the Circle Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery
is always beautiful. A magnificent place for whitewater paddling near Smith Lake is Canyon Creek, and there are plenty of folks from Durango here. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not sufficient there's a load more cool
stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Skiing at Durango is one of those things you just have to do, and do take a hike on the Goodhope Stock Driveway. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to
Smith Lake. You can never get enough of the pleasant skiing at Hesperus Ski Center; you can run the rapids of Animas River.
