Going for a hike along the Highline Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and if you get bored of Smith Lake you could also take a look at close by Keeler Reservoir. And if that's not enough there's heaps more enjoyable stuff to do in the San Juan Mountains. Gotta ski! Hesperus Ski Center is a good spot to do that. And that's not everything you can do       here in the San Juan Mountains. Stay the night at Durango Koa Kampground; Pinkerton Hot Springs is an inspiring location to visit while you're here. All through the summer at Smith Lake temperatures are typically in the 70's while night lows are usually in the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Smith Lake all through the winter ordinarily sink into the 0's. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Smith Lake has                  to offer, you can camp at Haviland Lake Campground, and from Smith Lake you acquire a good view of Spud Hill. That right there is a load already, but it continues; Smith Lake has it all. An exciting thing to go to right next door to Smith Lake is Keeler Dam, and after a long day outdoors Cascade Village is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Just can't get enough of the San Juan Mountains. Nearby Bell Canyon is a tremendous place to go if you're at Smith Lake, and right next door to Smith Lake you locate a golf course called Dalton Ranch Golf Club. Smith Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at Smith Lake, you can go for a hike along the Circle Trail; there are plenty of folks from Durango here. And that's not all you can do here at Smith Lake. Canyon Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby; everyone close by loves skiing at Durango. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Animas River, and a quick visit to Bear Creek is undeniably a brilliant idea. Tamarron Resort is a nice place to get some rest, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Goodhope Stock Driveway.
